Located in Ottawa’s downtown, the #Mac_at_Bac Coach House provides a compact studio apartment on top of a new garage. The design takes its material queues from the 100-year old original house and simultaneously applies them in a contemporary way. The fenestration is limited due to the structure’s proximity to the neighbouring properties. Apertures are strategically placed to maximize natural light while also ensuring privacy for the resident. The compact space feels big due to its cathedral ceilings and large skylights.

A full kitchen, full bathroom & convertible work station provide an optimal space for a young professional ready for a space of their own.
